Eine kurze Wanderung auf einen Hügel mit toller Aussicht, ein Sprung ins erfrischende Nass am Python Pool und schlussendlich ein Übernachtungsplatz mit Panoramablick und wunderbarem Sonnenuntergang – was will man mehr? Der Millstream Chichester National Park bietet all das und er ist erst noch kaum besucht. Bei der Anfahrt kommen wir erstmals mit der rauen Bergbauwelt Australiens in Kontakt. Die Züge scheinen Kilometerlang und die Roadtrains aus den Mienen brettern in riesigen Staubwolken an uns vorbei. Wir müssen meist komplett anhalten um nicht für mehrere Sekunden blind durch die Gegend zu fahren.
A short walk up a hill with stunning scenery, a dip in the refreshing waters of Python Pool, and finally a place to spend the night with panoramic views and a wonderful sunset – what more could you want? Millstream Chichester National Park offers all of this, and what’s more, it’s hardly ever visited. On the way there, we get our first taste of Australia’s rugged mining landscape. The trains seem to stretch for kilometres, and the road trains from the mines race past us in huge clouds of dust. We usually have to come to a complete stop to avoid driving blindly for several seconds.
