Aus der Einsamkeit der Wüste und Canyons kommend, ist es schon ein wenig überwältigend in den Jubel und Trubel der Grossstadt reinzufahren. Wir haben in Las Vegas für zwei Nächte ein Hotel gebucht, um auch wirklich in die Casinowelt eintauchen zu können. Unseren Troopy für die zwei Tage auf einem Parkplatz mitten in der Stadt stehen zu lassen, fällt uns aber immer sehr schwer. In den Grossstädten der USA gibt es sehr viele Obdachlose und wir haben schon von so einigen anderen Reisenden von kaputten Scheiben und vermurksten Schlössern gehört. So gab es über die Tage verteilt so einige Kontrollgänge um zu schauen, ob noch alles da ist und nicht eingebrochen wurde.
Coming from the loneliness of the desert and canyons, it is a bit overwhelming to drive into the hustle and bustle of the big city. We booked a hotel in Las Vegas for two nights to really immerse ourselves in the casino world. Leaving our Troopy in a parking lot in the middle of the city for the two days is quite difficult for us. In the big cities of the USA there are many homeless people and we have already heard from some other travelers about broken windows and screwed up locks. Therefore, over the days we made lots of control walks to see if everything is still there and has not been broken into.
Wir ruhen uns ein wenig im Hotel Zimmer aus und als es eindunkelt, beginnen wir damit die Stadt zu erkunden. Besonders beeindruckend finden wir das Wasserspiel vor dem Bellagio Hotel. Wir werden es über die Tage mehrmals sehen. Natürlich probieren wir uns auch im Glückspiel – leider ist das gesetzte Limit an den einarmigen Banditen und am Roulette Tisch dann doch ziemlich schnell aufgebraucht.
We rest a little in the hotel room and when it gets dark, we start to explore the city. We find the water fountain show in front of the Bellagio Hotel particularly impressive. We will visit it several times during the days. Of course we try ourselves at gambling – unfortunately the set limit at the one-armed bandits and at the roulette table is used up pretty quickly.
Der Zufall will es, dass zur gleichen Zeit auch eine der grössten Autoausstellungen in Las Vegas stattfindet. Die SEMA Show ist zwar nur für Aussteller gedacht, hat aber auch einen grossen frei zugänglichen Aussenbereich. Wir machen uns also am zweiten Tag in Richtung des Las Vegas Convention Centers auf, wo es so einige ausgefallene Tuningkreationen zu bestaunen gab.
Coincidentally, one of the largest car shows in Las Vegas is also taking place at the same time as our visit. The SEMA Show is only for exhibitors, but also has a large freely accessible outdoor area. So on the second day, we set off in the direction of the Las Vegas Convention Center, where there were some fancy tuning creations to marvel at.
Alles in allem hat uns Las Vegas gut gefallen, wir sind dann aber doch auch froh wieder raus zu fahren und diesen teuren Ausflug in die Welt der Lichter und Glücksspiele zu beenden. Viva las Vegas.
All in all, we liked Las Vegas, but we were glad to get out and let this expensive escapade into the world of lights and gambling come to an end. Viva Las Vegas.
